Turnkey ink processing systems

Inks are a huge commodity consumed in all aspects of daily lives from newspapers to T-shirts. Various types of inks include liquid, gravure, flexo screen, roto, inkjet, offset, and ceramic inks.

Process

The process involves creating a premix where in resin , pigment and a carrier ( solvent/ water ) is mixed together . This is traditionally done using a high speed disperser using a cowel type saw tooth blade, the premix is then fed to wet grinding mills and then packed. This is the traditional setup taking excess number of running hours and wear and tear which can be avoided if using Wahal’s upto date product line . For this, we recommend the following :

  1. In-tank homogenizer for premix preparation: The in-tank homogenizer works on rotor/stator technology and uses centrifugal forces to shear agglomerates of pigments with resin. The action is much faster( hence reducing the batch times drastically ) and the end results much more homogenized as compared to a traditional cowl blade disperser.
  2. Inline homogenizer: If the batch sizes are beyond 500 liters, we recommend using an inline homogenizer as well. Our patented 4 stage inline homogenizer generates a tip speed of 25-60 m/s and reduces the particle size of the agglomerates from 250 microns to around 30 microns d90. This is a tremendous achievement as this drastically reduces the bead milling cycle times. Further, the homogenizers are also jacketed to prevent a sharp rise in product temperatures.
  3. Bead mill: Our bead mills utilize beads varying from 0.7-2 mm depending on applications and final particle size required. The design is of 2 different types of viz. disc and pin. The material of construction for discs varies from PU, PTFE, to carbides/ceramics, etc.
  4. Automation: Hinduengineers specializes in automation of different complicated applications. We can automate the whole system from raw material transfer to final product packaging.
  5. Packaging
